Get out of a "Scarcity Funk"

Anxiety and worry about money or financial security is a theme in the lives of many. Unfortunately, these worries don't bring the results that we really want or need.

Physically, our bodies suffer as they are deluged with the accompanying negative effects of stress and anxiety. These worries and harmful thoughts and feelings even play a role in the very STATE of our financial affairs, as our life experience—responding dispassionately—begins to closely match these harmful thoughts and beliefs.

Statements and thoughts like "There just isn’t enough money" and "We can't afford that" are powerful. It is time to put a stop to that kind of creating in your life!

The “Think Like A Millionaire” recording, available at www.mythoughtcoach.com will help you turn around these thoughts quickly. It won’t take long before these affirmations begin to improve your inner dialogue, and more closely match that of some of the most successful people out there.

The "Release and Let Go of. . . Feelings of Scarcity Meditation” can also help you very quickly get into a place where you can be much more productive and creative about your present and future. Put these negative feelings and harmful thoughts to rest, once and for all!

The use of EFT will assist you in getting out a “money and scarcity funk” (see diagram on the site, or on my “Affirmations” blog post). It is also helpful if, at the time that you are going through this, you are able to be currently in the feeling or energy that you are ready to let go of. This will activate the place in your brain and body where this energy is currently being stored, and ensure that you are deleting the exact “scarcity file” that you want to get rid of.

As you continue to heal, forgive and let go of harmful feelings and emotions, it will become increasingly easy to be PRESENT in PRESENT time. Your energy and focus, as well as your capacity for JOY and HAPPINESS, will dramatically increase as you spend less and less of your life energy ruminating or reliving your past, or worrying about the future!

True Power

It isn't easy to avoid the heavy effects of our increasingly chaotic and at times dangerous world. We can arm ourselves however with tremendous power and resilience.

Usually we think that brave people have no fear. The truth is that they are intimate with fear.

When we feel fear we are given an opportunity to learn about ourselves in a profound way. In order to overcome fear we discover strengths that we were often not aware we had. These strengths, and how to access them, are often only exposed to us when we are in our extremes.

The only things we can control are the images and the thoughts that go on in our brain. You can't control the world, but when you control your thoughts, you bring order.

The practice of relaxation and meditation will assist you as you courageously navigate your course through past, current and future fears and anxieties.

Share your light with others: with strangers, with those who you feel might not deserve it, and with those who need you the most.

Soul Anchoring

Spirituality is a crucial part of a full and rich life experience. To open a door towards finding, reconnecting or expanding your own views, I have written mediations containing several of the world’s spiritual and religious beliefs.

Be open to new ideas and other views, as they will help you connect and expand your own.

There is a place within each of us that is receptive and open to inspiration and wisdom. Pondering and meditating on these passages can remind us of our own higher potential, and provide us with a profound anchor when the waves of life come crashing upon us.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi--Francis Bernadone, Italy 1180
Discourse on Good Will--The Buddha
The Sheema--from The Torah

Evening Moral Inventory

The most recent additions for subscribers to www.mythoughtcoach.com, Evening Inventory and Matt's Morning Prayer are tools for overcoming addiction. Addiction in any form will inevitably take precedence over every other worthwhile desire if it is allowed.

Addiction has been defined as: 1) Compulsive physiological and psychological need for a habit-forming substance; or 2) the condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something.

Nature has supplied us all with the ability to become hooked--and we all engage in addictive behaviors to some degree: heroin, morphine, amphetamines, tranquilizers, cocaine, nicotine, caffeine, sugar, steroids, work, theft, gambling, exercise, and even love and sex.

In the 12 Steps of Recovery, Step 11 calls for prayer, meditation and an evening moral inventory.

Ultimately our greatest wholeness and peace requires that we heal and refine our inner world. Otherwise we become increasingly susceptible to addiction in one form or another, and therein lose our freedom.

Re-Boot for your Brain

Think of a good workout as a "re-boot" to your brain and your entire electrical system, because in many ways that is exactly what it is. Exercising the house that you live in will set the stage for a more balanced brain chemistry and quickly offer a way out of ruminating thoughts.

You’ll be working with a much cleaner mental and emotional slate than you started with, and have the perfect fertile soil to plant new beliefs and thoughts into your psyche.

Read the “Meditation Workout” post in this blog’s archive for more info about how this all works.

A new workout has just been added to www.mythoughtcoach.com.

This latest addition is a little bit different than the previous workouts. It is still interval training, it's still based on your own perceived level of exertion, and it will still train your body in the same way. It's just shorter in time and maybe just a tiny bit tougher.

One-minute “High Intensity” segments (working out as hard as you possibly can, a Level 10 based on your own perceived exertion) are sandwiched between two-minute Active Recovery Segments (to bring your heart rate back down--about a Level 3 on your perceived level of exertion, from 1-10).

Don't be tempted to think that these workouts might not be as effective for fat burning than the longer more traditional ways that you learned about from your Jazzercise teacher! Research about how the H.I.I.T. method burns more fat and helps your body maintain more of its lean muscle mass is all over the internet. Google it if you're still skeptical, and feel like more time on your treadmill will really make a difference.

Then put on your shoes, hit a machine or the road, and try out Interval Workout #3-Hi Lo.

Use the three minutes at the end of the workout to visualize and affirm what you want in your body, in your day and in your life.

Resistance

When someone is working out physically, there are moments that are very difficult to get through. People lift heavy things or move themselves through tremendous "resistance" because they believe in and desire what is on the other side.

Opposition is not just a part of the gym experience. It is a part of the life experience. It would be ludicrous for anyone to claim that life is always easy and blissfully pleasant. We all know that there are moments when life feels really hard.

Your life experience is often tailored to perfectly match your own unique potential. Because of this, what you choose to do during the tough moments in your daily experience is more important than you realize.

Difficult days, whether opposition comes from within or from your external circumstances, offer a unique opportunity for your individual growth. As you choose to stay the course, and committed to the person that you are becoming, DESPITE the opposition, you greatly accelerate your progress.

Of course, whether you embrace this opportunity or not, is always up to you. Certainly there are numerous other options out there, to help you numb out. Vices and addictions work, but only temporarily and come with a high price. They can quickly lead you far off the path from what you most want and cause a haze of even being able to REMEMBER what the highest part within you wants.

Try responding differently on your next difficult day. Coaches have proven to make a difference in assisting people towards their goals, particularly during the tough moments. At the moment of choice, arm yourself with your favorite meditation or affirmation and decide to press play, before any other decision is made. This act alone can shake you out of old patterns and trance like responses.

Choose to believe in who you are becoming on the other side of every difficult moment! Be grateful for the opposition, because it is allowing you to demonstrate to yourself and the universe what you really believe in.

Every birth has a few labor pains.
